Sponsorship of Brazilian Cultural Program in China

CTG Brasil is one of the Golden Sponsors of the 2021 Brazilian Cultural Program in China promoted by the Embassy of Brazil in Beijing. The program aims to promote various kinds of Brazilian cultural activities in China to strengthen people-to-people exchange as the new frontier in the bilateral relationship. CTG Brasil was also the Golden Sponsor of the first and the second edition of the Program.

Today, China is the main trade partner of Brazil, and Brazil is the third main trade partner of China in the West. China also became the major international investor in Brazil. A global strategic partnership gives support to this sound economic relationship. Nevertheless, there is still a great potential to strengthen people-to-people cooperation between Brazil and China to make it match the fast development of the economic ties.

In this context, since 2018, the Embassy of Brazil in Beijing have organized two editions of Brazilian Cultural Program in China, to promote various kinds of Brazilian culture activities in China to increase people-to-people connection and to introduce Brazilian culture to even more Chinese people, such as Brazilian Film Festival in China, guitar concert, dance performance, art exhibitions and so on.

Considering the current world challenge to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, the third edition of Brazilian Cultural Program in 2021 will adopt a different approach in comparison to 2018 and 2019.  This edition will merge online and offline activities in order to make a better use of Chinese digital platforms and extend the outreach of the initiatives.

In April, the Brazilian Embassy in China has officially started the activities, with kick-off of “Origins of Brazil”. The project aims at promoting a dialogue between Brazil and China, by holding sessions to introduce basic principles of Brazilian History, Geography and Culture to Elementary School students all over China. The project includes Brazilian culture classes in schools, design competition and drawing contest. It is focused on the younger generations and counts with the partnership of Tsinghua University and UNESCO Beijing Office.
